Soil moisture monitor is a soil monitoring sensor based on the dielectric constant principle. It can simultaneously measure three parameters: soil temperature, moisture, and conductivity. It supports layered observation points and uploads data to a cloud platform via GPRS or 4G networks. It is widely used in smart irrigation and agricultural research.
Soil moisture monitor is a sensor used to monitor soil profile temperature, soil profile moisture, and soil profile conductivity. Integrating soil temperature, moisture, and conductivity measurements, it can be widely used in agricultural engineering fields such as smart greenhouses, smart orchards, and smart irrigation. Also known as a non-contact soil moisture meter or soil moisture meter, it is a sensor based on the dielectric constant principle. The instrument can dynamically observe the soil moisture content of different soil layers, achieving rapid, accurate, and comprehensive monitoring.
In terms of technical parameters, the Soil moisture monitor measures soil temperature from -30 to 70 degrees Celsius with an accuracy of ±0.3 degrees Celsius (within the range of -10 to 70 degrees Celsius) and a resolution of 0.01 degrees Celsius. Soil moisture measures from 0 to 100% with an accuracy of ±3% (loam) and a resolution of 0.1%. Soil conductivity measures from 0 to 20,000 micro-Siemens per centimeter with an accuracy of ±3% (within the range of 0 to 10,000 micro-Siemens per centimeter) and a resolution of 1 micro-Siemens per centimeter. The instrument has a built-in high-frequency sounding wave transmitter that can penetrate plastic tubes to effectively sense the soil environment. The sensor electrodes do not directly contact the soil, avoiding electrical interference with the soil and plants. The instrument is unaffected by salt ions in the soil, and agricultural activities such as fertilizers, pesticides, and irrigation will not affect the measurement results.
The Soil moisture monitor features a fully sealed structure with an IP67 waterproof rating and a PVC shell, allowing for long-term, uninterrupted measurement in the field. The monitoring depth can be customized according to requirements. Communication method: 485 Modbus RTU protocol. The instrument adopts a low-power design. It comes with a built-in data management cloud platform and APP, allowing users to view data via webpage or mobile phone. The platform supports data curves and tables, and data can be exported and imported. Soil moisture monitor is widely used in drought monitoring, soil research, intelligent irrigation, crop yield forecasting, and landslide monitoring. By precisely controlling irrigation, this instrument helps avoid the adverse effects of over- or under-irrigation on crop growth, improving crop quality and yield.
