Farming effluent monitoring stations to prevent water pollution

Farming is both an important agricultural sector in China and can also lead to the pollution of water bodies. As the scale of farming expands, residual feed and chemicals may pollute waters and even cause eutrophication and red tides. Therefore, the Chinese government has emphasised the need to control farm wastewater in a number of environmental policies to reduce the impact on the environment and to promote the environmental transformation of the farming industry.

The Farming Wastewater Monitoring Station is constructed using environmental IoT technology to achieve automated monitoring. It is widely used in all kinds of farming fields, including but not limited to aquaculture and livestock farming industries. The system is mainly responsible for monitoring and managing the tail water discharges generated during the farming process, ensuring that this wastewater, which is no longer used in the farming process, is properly treated and monitored before it is discharged into the outside environment.

These monitoring stations are located at different monitoring points and are capable of tracking and recording the water quality status of the farm tail water in real time. Using a dedicated communication system, the monitoring sub-stations can automatically send the collected data to a central monitoring centre, making remote monitoring possible. At the same time, the monitoring centre has the ability to communicate directly with the sub-stations in order to obtain up-to-date water quality information in a timely manner.

This automated system effectively alleviates human resource constraints by enabling uninterrupted 24-hour monitoring, reducing reliance on manual monitoring.

The system also provides an efficient solution for managing high-emission farms by ensuring timely, accurate and continuous monitoring through constant supervision of farm outfalls.

Using the water quality data collected by the monitoring system, law enforcement agencies are able to gain a real-time understanding of the water quality of farm tailings and provide early warning and prediction of potential water quality pollution incidents, enabling rapid detection, rapid response, immediate notification and effective treatment of problems.
