Rainfall monitoring system to track rainfall

Article source:Weather station   time:2024-07-15 09:26:23    viewed:7times

Adequate precipitation is essential for alleviating water scarcity in arid areas, and it has a positive impact on the community's industrial and agricultural development, the development of water resources and the management of engineering projects. However, during periods of rainfall, relevant authorities need to closely monitor changes in precipitation levels and provide timely warnings to community residents to ensure their safety and preparedness measures.

The Rainfall Monitoring System (RMS) is an intelligent system that utilises IoT technology and is specifically designed to track rainfall in real time in various areas of the urban drainage system. Equipped with equipment such as piezoelectric and optical rain gauges and tipping bucket rainfall monitors, the system enables instant collection, transmission and processing of rainfall data through the application of IoT. Through continuous monitoring of rainfall events and in-depth analyses of different levels of precipitation such as moderate, heavy and heavy rainfall, the platform is able to provide effective data support and decision-making assistance for the management and maintenance of urban drainage systems.

The cloud platform management function allows data management, remote parameter setting, online firmware upgrade and operation status monitoring of low-power video monitoring stations.

Quick access to GIS maps for instant viewing of station information.

Intelligent troubleshooting system that provides early warning of potential equipment failures including batteries, solar panels, data traffic costs and signalling issues.

Set alarm thresholds to enable automatic alarm function for overruns.

Regular analysis and statistics of operational data from monitoring stations and projects, automatic preparation of operational assessment reports, and timely notification to administrators via mobile devices.

Dedicated mobile application for receiving early warning and alarm messages as well as operation evaluation reports.
