The agro-meteorological environmental IoT monitoring system integrates a range of sensor technologies, including RS485-standard soil sensors, temperature and humidity sensors, CO2 sensors and light sensors, and is also equipped with a camera to continuously record crop growth.
The system utilises IoT technology and consists of sensors, data hubs, wireless devices, gateways, routers, cloud services and controllers. The sensors collect environmental data and send it wirelessly to the gateway. The gateway then uploads the data to the cloud via 4G network. The cloud platform not only displays the data in real time, but also enables intelligent monitoring and early warning. Users can also access and view the data conveniently through the web application interface. The whole system forms a complete closed loop from data collection to display to intelligent control.
In addition, it can continuously track key data of the outdoor environment, such as wind direction, wind speed, air temperature, air pressure and precipitation. All data are synchronised to the cloud platform, which not only supports instant analysis of soil nutrient status, light conditions and environmental parameters, but also lays the data foundation and learning resources for the further development of smart agriculture.
Through this system, we are able to monitor, manage, and study plant breeding and growth processes more precisely. Using real-time local monitoring data, we can have a comprehensive understanding of all kinds of environmental parameters in the greenhouse as well as plant growth monitored through images, and achieve data collection, processing, visual display and in-depth analysis. This series of processes provides us with a scientific basis to help us develop a more reasonable programme for breeding, seedling and planting.
The monitoring system is an important tool for achieving precision agriculture management, helping to optimise crop management, improve agricultural output and promote agriculture towards intelligence and sustainability.
