China's vast territory, diverse topography and landscape, and very different climatic conditions in various places, which brings a considerable test to the safe operation of power transmission lines. Especially in some unique terrain areas, such as valley areas, high-altitude mountainous areas, and above the river, the climatic phenomena in these places compared with the surrounding areas, there are significant differences.
However, transmission lines inevitably cross these challenging areas during erection. These special geographical environments not only have an impact on the stable operation of transmission lines, but can sometimes lead to serious damage to the lines, which in turn can bring about significant economic damage. In order to ensure the continuous and stable operation of transmission lines, the development of online monitoring systems for transmission line meteorology has become crucial.
The transmission line meteorological station developed for climate environment monitoring has the ability to track a variety of meteorological elements in real time, including air temperature, humidity, wind speed, wind direction, atmospheric pressure, precipitation and sunlight. The system is capable of instantly feeding back the monitored meteorological data and its fluctuations to the control centre. Upon monitoring any abnormal meteorological events, the system will activate the multi-channel alert mechanism to issue warning notifications.
With this monitoring equipment, manpower and material consumption can be reduced, and personnel can be arranged to respond to abnormal events more efficiently to ensure stable operation of transmission lines.
The technical parameters of this meteorological equipment have been calibrated and certified with the following accuracy and characteristics:
Wind speed measurement ranges from 0 to 60 metres per second with an accuracy of ±0.1 metres per second;
Wind direction measurements covering 0 to 360 degrees with an accuracy within ±2 degrees;
Air temperature measurement from -40 to 60 degrees Celsius with an accuracy of ±0.3 degrees Celsius;
Air humidity is measured with an accuracy of ±3 per cent RH and a range of 0 to 100 per cent RH;
Atmospheric pressure is measured from 300 to 1100hPa with an accuracy of ±0.25%;
Piezoelectric rainfall is measured with an accuracy of ±4 per cent over a range of 0 to 4 mm per minute.
The company that produces these devices has not only passed the ISO quality management system, environmental management system and occupational health and safety management system certifications, but also holds a certificate of computer software registration and has been named a 3A grade credit enterprise.
