The problem of rodent infestation in farmland not only damages crop yields and affects food reserves, but may also spread various diseases. Therefore, strengthening the monitoring of rodent populations and taking preventive and control measures are essential to controlling the occurrence of rodent infestations in farmland and the damage they cause, which helps to achieve the goals of preventing disasters and diseases and guaranteeing food security and ecological balance. Through effective rodent pest management, we can ensure the smooth running of agricultural production while reducing the risk of public health and safety incidents in rural areas, especially the prevention of rodent-borne epidemics, which is of great significance in maintaining the health and well-being of rural communities.
In order to improve the efficiency of rodent infestation management, a smart module is integrated into the rodent monitoring equipment. This module uses infrared sensing technology to detect rodent activity, and as soon as a rodent is detected entering the device, this information is immediately transmitted to a cloud-based platform.
In this way, managers can receive real-time alarm notifications via computer or mobile phone. The overall operational architecture of this smart device consists of three key components: the front-end device, the communication network and the cloud platform data processing system.
The device adopts innovative monitoring technology that uses infrared sensing and high-definition cameras to track the behavioural patterns of pest rats in real time, and sends the monitoring data to a big data platform for smart rat pest monitoring via wireless communication technology. The platform uses image recognition and data analysis models to identify rodent species and estimate the density of rodent populations, thus enabling remote real-time monitoring and analysis of rodent infestation.
The application of digitalised rodent pest monitoring technology in agricultural areas and its combination with on-site surveys breaks the limitations of traditional monitoring methods and enables the monitoring, investigation, prevention and control of rodent infestation to achieve all-weather coverage and precise positioning of the transformation.
